Scholarship Program:


What is the Mission and Goals?

The purpose of this scholarship program is to allow a child/family to attend St. Catherine of Siena Catholic school when they otherwise couldn't.


What is the Scope?

For the first year (2006/2007) only one elementary scholarship will be awarded.


How long will our commitment be to each child?

For the first year (2006/2007) the length will be 1 year, and the amount will be $1,000 per year


How will we determine the families' economic qualifications?

The council scholarship committee will consult with the school principal to determine a qualified and deserving recipient.


On what are we basing the qualifications of the scholarship award?

Need of the family.


Who selects the persons/families that are to be considered for the award?

The council scholarship committee will consult with the school principal to determine a qualified and deserving recipient.


Will the same person/familty be eligible again the following year?

For the first couple of years, we will try to avoid granting the scholarship to the same person/family. This however, can change depending on the committee and level of funds.


Does the recipient need to be a member of our church?

No! This is open to all that attend the St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School


Will this fund ever cover higher education and other schools?

This will be considered for the school year 2007-2008. The decision is up to the council's scholarship committee.
